Done eating? Mask up!

People are back using the library café space lately, which is great! But when you are finished eating…MASK UP. And keep spaces clean. Mount Mary has kept its COVID cases low all this time, and now is still the time for diligence. Vaccines are just starting to ramp up!

Thanks.

Givenchy’s Birthday

Hubert de Givenchy in his atelier at Avenue George V.tif

You may be wondering why Haggerty Library would be celebrating the late, famed fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy’s 94th birthday, which was this past Saturday. Aside from his glorious creations worn by Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Princess Grace of Monaco, of course. That could be enough, but no!

This year, we are using his birthday to shamelessly promote our inaugural Mount Mary University Digital Collections pilot: Givenchy Across the Decades: Selections From The Mount Mary University Fashion Archive. Digitized in fall 2018, the selections represent well the Fashion Archive’s varied Givenchy apparel collection. We aim to add more to Mount Mary’s digital collections from the Fashion Archive in the near future.

Click above or here to view the selections, and here for more about Mr. Givenchy. Also try Primo to see what books and e-books Haggerty Library has.

Bonne chasse!

Black History Month

Image result for black history month graphic"

February was not yet computing, so we missed the start of Black History Month yesterday!

Please check out our newly updated Black History Month Guide, full of great books, e-books, sites, and films at and through Haggerty Library.

Although we do not have our usual display table up, you will find DVDs featuring African American titles on top of the DVD shelves just inside the Learning Commons.

Remember, explore and engage with Black history all the time – not only during February! Black history is American history…
