Primo Access Currently Down

Something happened last night that is causing people not to be able to log into Primo, which also blocks off-campus access. Brand new Primo. Sigh.

SWITCH and Mount Mary IT staff are working on the problem. We’ll post here when it’s resolved.

Primo Update IV

We’ve hit a couple of snags with Primo that we need to report.

The search box is not functioning properly, so when you search and end up in Primo, there’s no search box when you get there.

To work around this, you can:

  • Hit the refresh button Image result for refresh icon in your browser. This will engage another search box.
  • Use this link instead, until we get this fixed: https://switch-mmwlc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01SLCO_MMWLC:MMU

Primo Update III: it is now live!

Today’s the day: our new library catalog, Primo, is live!

Head to our home page to test drive it. It’s the new search box!

(Please note that the Primo Search guide is still a work in progress. We will add more in the coming weeks! Contact a librarian for immediate assistance.)

Season’s Greetings!

Hopefully, by now, most of you have seen or heard something about Primo coming in January. If not, catch up here!

Primo is our new, advanced library catalog, in conjunction with the SWITCH libraries group. It goes live on January 8, 2019.

Watch this blog for more news coming soon, but if you’re researching over the break, please note:

  • Primo will replace WorldCat Discovery, so please do not place WorldCat requests after January 4.
  • Your Primo login will be easy to remember! It will be the same as your regular Mount Mary computer login.
    • And, if you are logged into your MMU email, and you click Sign In in Primo, that’s it. You’ll be automatically logged in!
  • On the 8th, there will be a new home page search box and a separate link for easy signing in to Primo.
  • Until the 9th, library checkouts are unavailable. Sorry!

Meet Primo! Coming in January @ Haggerty Library.

Why Primo? Haggerty Library belongs to SWITCH, a southeast Wisconsin group of 8 academic libraries who share resources and am online catalog. SWITCH library Directors and staff made the decision and have been working on this major transition since the spring of 2018.

Like WorldCat Discovery before it, Primo is a powerful research tool covering multiple library formats. Primo will also be a springboard to other Haggerty Library resources. And requesting and library account options will be much more plentiful and streamlined!

What’s new:

  • A personalized search experience, including search history and keeping track of all your requests. In one spot.
  • Signing in gives you this full array of options, plus requesting and more!
  • This login syncs with your Mount Mary email! No more separate library login!

What’s next:

  • When you return from the holiday break, Primo will be up and running!
  • Check it out then on the library home page
  • Sign into your account right away to start familiarizing yourself with all the cool new options
