Oscar Oscar!

The Oscars are Sunday! Your host: Ellen Degeneres.

What does Hollywood’s biggest night have to do with the Library?

Lots, actually.

First, Haggerty Library & Learning Commons has lots of DVDs and we get more frequently. This includes many Oscar nominees and winners, past and recent.

Second, libraries and archives are at the forefront of preserving films, and therefore, film history. American history.

Lastly, though the list could go on, raucous Oscar fashion discussions abound, and your library has plenty of books on Hollywood fashion, past and present.

So, watch the Oscars and watch movies! Enough said.

(Except, why are they called the Oscars anyway? Click here.)
